Qeexo transforms the way people interact with mobile and other touch-enabled devices. Its FingerSense software is the only touch technology that can distinguish between a fingertip, knuckle, nail, or stylus, unleashing powerful capabilities simply by tapping the screen with different parts of the finger. Qeexo technologies are deployed on millions of mobile devices worldwide. This past year, Huawei, the 2nd largest Android device manufacturer in the world, featured FingerSense on millions of its smartphones. In addition, Qeexo welcomed Alibaba Group’s YunOS business unit as a partner. Last month, YunOS introduced FingerSense as a core feature for its platform and development community.
“We continue to see enormous demand for our products and we have a dynamic and growing development pipeline poised to change the way people use technology,” said Sang Won Lee, CEO of Qeexo. “We are thrilled to have such fantastic investors support us in delivering more powerful and richer user experiences in mobile, wearables, gaming, and productivity. The new funding will fuel the global expansion of our world-class team and bolster our R&D, sales, and marketing initiatives.”

Sierra Ventures Managing Director Ben Yu added, “There is tremendous interest in applications that can distinguish devices for OEMs and create superior user experiences. Qeexo’s impressive team and technology portfolio uniquely position the company to seize this market opportunity.”
Qeexo welcomes Larry Ciaccia, former CEO of AuthenTec, to the company’s Board of Directors. Ciaccia brings a unique blend of mobile engineering and executive-level experience to the board. Under Ciaccia’s leadership, AuthenTec became the leading supplier of biometric fingerprint sensors and developed the fingerprint sensor technology used on the iPhone home button. AuthenTec was acquired by Apple in 2012.

FingerSense is the only technology that can distinguish between a fingertip, knuckle, nail, or stylus input, presenting powerful capabilities simply by tapping a screen with different parts of the finger, and radically enhancing the functionality and usability of mobile devices. The patented technology analyzes the unique acoustic signature of physical objects to identify the object touching the screen. With Qeexo’s rich technology set, users can circle a portion of the screen to copy and share just that section, double tap to launch a dashboard of user-defined apps, and use varying angles and impact pressure to control device features.
FingerSense is software-only, and can be deployed on mobile devices without the extra cost or space of additional hardware. FingerSense gives manufacturers new opportunities to differentiate their products and wow customers.
